Wednesdays, 12:00pm - 1:00pm
3452 A.V. Williams Building (HCIL-2)

Did you want to attend the CHI (Human Factors in Computer Systems) and UIST (User Interface Software and Technology) conferences, but just couldn't get to them? Or worse, did you go, but never read the proceedings! In this one credit reading seminar, we will read approximately 2 papers/week and watch the videos, virtually attending much of these two conferences. The goal is to get an overview of current research in HCI, rather than studying one area in detail. We will rotate responsibility for leading discussions on the papers. No writing will be required. But, leaders will be required to do background reading on the topic, and be prepared to guide the discussion of the current paper.

We will meet for one hour per week.  Please feel free to bring your lunch. This course is open to a maximum of 20 graduate students (any major) - permission by instructor required.  If you would like to take this course, send me a short email saying who you are, what background in HCI you have (if any), and why you want to take this course.
