Revised Plan of Organization has increased undergraduate representation in Campus Senate by three seats, to one representative for every 1000 undergraduates.

Proposal to Rename the Ph.D. in Library and Informational Services as the Ph.D. in Information Studies
Proposal to Establish a New Post Baccalaureate Certificate in
Population Studies
Tenure Delay Policy.
There is an automatic extension of the tenure clock
for the birth of a child. The Senate previously
voted to interpret this liberally, but the
President rejected the amendment as too vague.
New, more explicit, language was suggested
by the legal department and passed by the Senate.
New Business
There will be a day long
Graduate Research Interaction Day (GRID)
on April 12.
Students can give oral or poster presentations
just like a conference; something is due March 16.
There will be awards, for and need faculty to evalute
(which may require about two hours per faculty member).

The Maryland legislature is studying whether to allow
unions to collect fees from non-union members.
Senate Bill 111; House Bill 129.
There is a committee looking into changes to
Tuition Remission, but the actual changes were
not discussed. Supposedly this mostly affects
staff members.
The Middle States review of the university is March 4-7.
