Highlights of the Mar 4, 2002, meeting of the College Park Senate
A proposal to modify the rule on the last 30 credits was
voted and passed. This means that during his or her last 30 credits,
a student may take up to 16 hours (and no more than 4 courses) at
another institution, provided the student has completed 75 credit
horus in residence at UMCP, and provided advance permission has been
obtained from the dean or chair of the unit from which the student
expects to graduate.
A proposal to amend II-4.00(A) UMCP Policies and Procedures
Governing Faculty Grievances, was voted and passed. Specifically, the
definition of "faculty status" was amended to encompass all those
whose faculty appointments are their primary positions at the
Univesity or Maryland.
