Highlights of the November 8, 2004, meeting of the College Park Senate

Student Academic Success Degree Policy: Each academic unit will set up a template for graduation in 4 years, with a set of benchmarks to monitor progress. Students who cannot meet those benchmarks will be advised to find another major with the help of advisors in the original program. Mandatory advising happens after 10 semesters. This will be effective with students who enter Fall 2005. After an exceptionally long discussion, the policy was passed.
