J. Leon Zhao
Biographical Note
J. Leon Zhao
holds a Ph. D. from the Haas
School of Business, University
of California, Berkeley (1992), a MS from University of California, Davis
(1985), and a BS in Engineering from Beijing Institute of Agricultural
Mechanization (1982). He taught three years at the School of Business,
The College of William and Mary before joining
HKUST. He has also worked
as a Computer Scientist with the Information and Computing Sciences
Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, California and
as a Research Engineer in the Corporate Systems Development Division,
Honeywell Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has published in Management
Science, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, Journal of
Intelligent Information Systems as well as in numerous refereed conference
proceedings such as Very Large Data Bases, Data Engineering, Information
and Knowledge Management, Scientific and Statistical Database Management,
and Hawaii International Conference on Systems Sciences.
His main
research interests include Intelligent Information Systems, Heterogeneous
Database Systems, Workflow Management, and Electronic Commerce.
Dr. Zhao is a member of Association of Information Systems, ACM, IEEE
Computer Sciety, and INFORMS.
