By Marcus Fedarko

Craig Abod (B.S. Computer Science, 1986) received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Greater Washington June 18, 2015. Abod is President and CEO of Carahsoft Technology Corporation, a “government IT solutions provider delivering best-of-breed hardware, software, and support solutions to federal, state and local government agencies.” Carahsoft was founded by Abod in 2004, and grew quickly—attaining over $2 billion in annual sales in 2014, and continuing to give a part of its earnings to a variety of charities.

The Entrepreneur of the Year award program, currently in its 29th year, provides recognition a variety of entrepreneurs from different backgrounds and industries. The EY website describes it as “...[having] expanded to recognize business leaders in over 145 cities in 60 countries throughout the world.”

The department extends its congratulations to Craig for one of many fantastic achievements, and looks forward to his continuing innovations in government technology solutions!
