HW #2
Due Sept 19, 2001
Find a movie that you'd like to see near to where you live at a convenient time. Do this twice for each system to reduce learning effects. For each system and trial, record the total time it took you to find the information, and the number of commands you had to enter.
1. Use your local news paper (starting with the news paper folded the way you buy it)
| Time in Seconds | Number of Commands | |
| First Trial | ||
| Second Trial |
2. Use the telephone to call 1-800-555-TELL
| Time in Seconds | Number of Commands | |
| First Trial | ||
| Second Trial |
3. Now use the web to find the same information at http://www.moviefone.com
| Time in Seconds | Number of Commands | |
| First Trial | ||
| Second Trial |
4. Now use the web again to find the same information using a WAP phone (if you have one) or at http://www.fandango.com/ (if not)
| Time in Seconds | Number of Commands | |
| First Trial | ||
| Second Trial |
Write a two pages analysis of the four approaches to finding this information. What worked, what didn’t work? Where were you confused, frustrated, surprised? What did you enjoy? And, most importantly, what recommendations do you have to improve all four systems.
