Project 2: Calf fee system

This project consists of developing a modern, clean web interface to the calf fee system for the CS department.

The Calf fee system collects money for all people with accounts on CS maintained machines, and this money is used to support the staff that performs this maintenance.

The existing implementation is available. Check with me for the password.

The database needs to contain the following information.

Account

Each account has the following information:

• cs account name
• email
• First name
• Last name
• isPI

Service change

Each account needs to be activated with a service record. Once it is active, it can be changed or terminated. Each activation, change or termination is a separate service record. Each service record contains:

• cs account
• Effective date
• Status: one of UNFUNDED, RA, LABSTAFF, PHD, MS, ADMIN_STAFF, TA, FELLOW, INSTRUCTOR, LECTURER, N/A, VISITOR, HOURLY, POSTDOC, GRAD, UGRAD, GROUP, COLLEAGUE, ALUM, FACULTY.
• Level (A|S|E|G|X)
• Owner (a PI)
• Payer (a PI)
• Comment
• Active (boolean)

Users

The system must keep track of which users are able to access and update the CALF fee database.

Communications

All communications with the CALF fee web system must be secured with SSL and authenticated via username/password.
