Homework #3

CMSC 132

Due Date: Fri Dec 8, 6:00 pm

Object-Oriented Programming II

Type of Homework: Closed

Fall 2006

For this homework you must implement a static method named findSocialSecurityNumbers that has the following prototype:

public static ArrayList<String> findSocialSecurityNumbers(String str);

The method returns an ArrayList object with strings representing social security numbers which are found in the string parameter. The format for a social security number is: XXX-XX-XXXX where X represents any digit (values 0 through 9).  For this homework you must define a regular expression that represents a valid social security number.  Using that regular expression and Java's  regular expression support, you will recognize instances of social security numbers in the string parameter.  You will receive 0 credit for this homework if you do not use regular expressions.

The homework's code distribution is available by checking out the module named HW3.  Public and release tests are available through the submit server, as usual.   To submit the project just use the submit project option.

No late deadline is associated with this homework.

To submit the project use the Eclipse submit project option.
