- Mon Nov 17, 3:18pm: Regarding Project #4: If your public tests work fine in your computer but fail in the submit server then maybe one of your classes is not satisfying the Java HashCode contract. For example, if you use a HashSet to keep track of your data, you must make sure elements added to the set implement the Java HashCode contract. In addition, if a class implements the comparable interface it should also satisfy the Java HashCode contract so you need to make sure the equals/hashCode in your class are correct.

Homework #1 has been posted and is available by visiting the Homeworks link i
n the class web page. A couple of things:
- The code distribution includes the project description. The date you will see in that description is not correct. The homework is due on Thursday Sept 11 (we have updated the schedule to reflect this change).
- As you attempt to complete this homework you may experience problems with your cvs account or Eclipse. Tomorrow in class we will talk about the homework plus TAs will have office hours. Due to the large number of students in the class we ask you to wait until tomorrow to address any problems you may experience rather than e-mailing us (It is easy to handle problems in person :)). Thank you for your help on this matter.
- Wed Sep 3, 8:00am: The discussion/lab session (identified as "Dis" in testudo) for Wed Sep 3 is cancelled. We will have our first lecture that day as scheduled. Nelson
- Wed Sep 3, 8:00am: Welcome to cmsc132 Fall 2008.
