Yes. Students are required to purchase their own Claude Code subscription at the Pro level ($20/month), for the duration of the course, as a course cost. If this creates a financial hardship, contact course staff as soon as possible to discuss your situation.

Yes — it’s required. See the AI Use Policy below; the short version is that using Claude Code is expected on every project, but you must be able to explain, defend, and verify anything it produces.

Attendance is not mandatory. However, clicker quizzes will be administered during lectures, and students must be present in class to participate in and receive credit for these quizzes.

Clicker quizzes cannot be made up. However, 20% of the clicker questions given over the semester are dropped, so missing the quizzes for one or two lectures, for any reason, will not affect your grade.
