What is Word Perfect?

WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX is a full-featured document processor that combines powerful word processing features, advanced spreadsheet functionality and multiple graphics functions. You can crunch numbers, directly import spreadsheet data, use document management functions or create charts, borders, tables or graphs while word processing. What's more, the interface is customizable, so you can personalize the way you work.

WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX also includes more than 70 Expert Document Templates. These pre-formatted document templates save time and effort by providing a standard format that can be easily personalized for many forms, memos, letters, invoices and more. WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX provides file compatibility with its DOS and MS Windows counterparts, as well as with other popular PC file formats.

Compatibility

WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX uses the same file format as WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS and Windows. This allows for compatibility with your existing WordPerfect files without file conversion or translation. It also provides better application integration and cross-platform compatibility.

Customizable Interface

WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX enables you to customize your interface. You can modify the Button Bar, Power Bar, Ruler Bar, Status Bar and keyboard layout to suit your personal working style.

Expert Document Templates

Expert Document Templates make word processing simple by providing you with pre-formatted templates from which you can quickly create professional-looking documents. More than 70 Expert Document Templates ship with WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX, including a variety of templates for fax forms, memos, invoices, newsletters and more.

Tables

Now you can crunch numbers while word processing. The Tables feature contains advanced spreadsheet capabilities such as formulas, numerical cell formatting, automatic recalculation, data fills and named ranges. You can dress up your tables with dozens of borders, line styles and fill patterns. With scores of spreadsheet functions available from within your WordPerfect document, you no longer need separate spreadsheet programs.

Drawing

WordPerfect Draw is an integral part of WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX and contains a robust set of drawing tools, including multiple background, color, fill, line and shadow attributes, charting and figure creation capabilities, painting and print parameters. WordPerfect Draw enables you to retrieve figures from other files into your current document.

Charting

You can select from a wide variety of chart options to create 3-D, line, area, hi-lo, pie and exploded pie charts. You can create charts directly from spreadsheet data with a click of a button.

Document Management

With WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX, you have complete document management capabilities right in the File Open dialog box. You can quickly copy, move, rename, delete and change the attributes of your files, either one at a time or several at once. WordPerfect's QuickList enables you to give a descriptive name to any directory or group of files, while QuickFinder offers what may be the fastest text retrieval in the industry.

Grammatik's Grammar and Style Checking

WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX includes easy-to-use Grammatik grammar checking software to help you double-check your documents for spelling, grammar and punctuation errors, and style flaws.

Graphics/Borders

Editing graphics is easier than ever before in WordPerfect for UNIX, with tools to move, rotate and size the image within your graphics box. You can wrap text on both sides of a graphic image or contour text around irregular-shaped objects. With a wide variety of borders and fill patterns, you have nearly unlimited border options for paragraphs, pages, columns, table cells and graphic images.
