Some statistics about grades follow.

  • Since Fawzi wasn't at the last lecture, the Exam #3 results were:

  • As mentioned during lecture, everyone's lowest quiz and lowest homework score were dropped in calculating final grades.

Some statistics about grades will be posted in a day or two, but in the meantime please be patient in waiting for these while grading for other courses is still ongoing.

May 13
  • The final exam for all sections of CMSC 250 will be on Saturday May 17th from 4:00PM to 6:00PM in room PHYS 1412. Please arrive a few minutes early, and be sure to bring pencil(s) with working erasers!

  • The review Q&A session will be in CSI 1122 on Thursday (the 15th) from 6:30-9:00. Bring your questions to the Q&A session.

  • The department has reserved rooms for students in some lower-level courses to study together on the exam study day (Wednesday the 14th). For CMSC 250 the room is CSI 1122, which is reserved from 9 am until 7 pm. If you want to study there you may find other students in the same course if you want to work together.

  • The solution to #7 (b) of the final review questions was corrected.

April 4
Sadly enough, a mistake was discovered in Homework #8. In Problem #5, change the quantifier "forall n >= 2" to "forall n >= 1". Also, for problem #6, please change the quantifier "forall n >= 2" to "forall n >= 3". We regret the inconvenience.
March 21
Due to some unfortunate but unavoidable schedule changes, some of the office hours have to be changed for the second half of the semester, beginning Monday, March 24:
Larry's office hours will now be Tu 2:30-3:30, W 11-12, Th 3:30-4:30
Peter's office hours will now be Tu 1-3, Th 1-2, F 2-3

Fawzi Emad's office hours have been moved. The new hours (starting next week) will be: Monday 4-5 and Wednesday 3-5.

There are a number of paid internships available to students who have completed CMSC 250, but nobody has claimed them yet! These are positions offered through the CMPS Corporate Scholars program working with the following companies: OPIS, Freewebs, Figleaf, GlobalNet, and Ensco. The application deadline has been moved to this Friday, so if you are interested, apply online here: www.cmps.umd.edu/csp/index.htm
