06/24/10   Please don't forget that your first midterm exam is on Thursday, 7/1. Arrive on time and bring pencils with working erasers!

06/17/10   In the specification for Project #2, I accidently listed the due-date as "Thursday, June 26", which doesn't exist. The correct due date for Project #2 is Thursday, June 24. Sorry for the mistake!

06/16/10   Project #2 has been posted -- please get started on it right away!

06/16/10   There is a way to have Eclipse automatically draw a vertial line in the editor at exactly the 80th column. (That way you can easily check that your lines are all less than 80 characters long, which is our requirement for this course.) Try this: Right-click inside the editor, then choose Preferences, General, Editors, Text Editors. You'll see a checkbox called "show print margin". Check this box, and enter the value 80 in the box below that says Print margin column.

06/09/10   Project #1 has been distributed. Begin by reading the project description, found by clicking the Projects link from the menu to the left. From there click on the name of the project (Sports Quiz) to view the project specification.

06/09/10   The "Study Questions" have been updated. (I re-formatted some things and removed the material that went beyond where we are in the course.) Please click the link to the left to try these questions. If you have forgotten the course-wide user-name and password, please ask me or your TA for them.

06/07/10   Java examples from today's lecture have been distributed to your CVS repository. To experiment with them in Eclipse, go into the CVS perspective and "checkout" the project called "Summer10Lec03Examples". I will continue to post all of the coding examples from class in this way as we go along.

06/07/10   Please note that Project #0 (Hello World) is due on Wednesday evening at 11:00PM. If you somehow missed it, please click the "projects" item on the menu to the left.

06/01/10  Be sure to check this page from time to time (I recommend daily) for important course announcements.  The more recent messages will appear at the top of the page.
