Fall 2000

Wednesdays, 14:00-15:15, AVW 2120

This is a once-a-week discussion/reading group for students, faculty and staff who are interested in examining current and emerging topics of interest in the world of database and information systems.

All participants will be required to present and lead the discussion for one or more papers during the course of the semester. In addition, all attendees are expected to participate actively in the discussions and must have read the assigned paper(s) in advance.

Fall semester's meetings will be held every week on Wednesdays (2:00pm - 3:15pm) in room AVW 2120 (the UMIACS conference room), starting Wednesday, September 6th. At the first meeting, we will discuss organizational issues and decide on the reading list. Feel free to show up at the first meeting, in case you have questions. Send email to thomas@cs.umd.edu if you have suggestions on papers to be included in the reading list.
