IMAP services

Junkfood users can use the department SSL-IMAP service at imap.cs.umd.edu to use an IMAP client to access your mail. Examples of IMAP clients include Thunderbird and Microsoft Outlook.

Please see the department FAQ page for more details on IMAP setup:

http://www.cs.umd.edu/faq/mailclient/

Most other department UNIX machines offer SSL-IMAP service if your mail isn't delivered to your junkfood account. You may use those machines as well, but we recommend the junkfood imap.cs.umd.edu, because it's heavily configured to serve the entire department and is fault-tolerant.

Unencrypted POP and IMAP protocols are not supported within the department. You must use encrypted IMAP or an ssh-based terminal connection.
