Authenticated SMTP service

With the proliferation of spam on the internet, more and more sites are locking down their mail systems so that they are not used to propagate unwanted spam email. We are one of those sites. The catch is that when our users are checking email from home or while traveling, they frequently have difficulty sending outgoing email.

We provide an authenticated SMTP server that will allow you to identify yourself to the system, and then send outgoing email from anywhere on the internet.

See the FAQ page if you would like to use this service, available from http://www.cs.umd.edu/faq/mailclient/.
