Mail readers

There is a wide variety of mail readers available on our UNIX systems. If you're not familiar with mail readers, I recommend using pine (terminal-based) or thunderbird (GUI-based), because they are fairly user-friendly. For more advanced users, the latest mail reader of choice seems to be mutt. Users with other mail reader preferences will find a variety of other programs as well. Ask if you can't find something you're looking for.

Microsoft Outlook is also available, but if you have a Sun or linux workstation on your desk, you will probably need to use it via the citrix system. See the section on citrix in the Network Services chapter for more details.
