More and more people are forwarding their CS email to remote sites such as Gmail. This is fine, but please be aware that we can only guarantee delivery to local CS machines. Once messages are forwarded beyond CS systems, we have no control over or knowledge of what external mail servers do with your email.
We regularly get questions from Gmail users wondering what is happening to their Email. We can track it to the point where it is forwarded to them at Gmail, but at that point, you must contact Gmail for technical support. They appear to be picky about what mail they accept, so be prepared for some of your messages to be dropped and lost. For this reason, we do not encourage reading your email exclusively on gmail or other external sites.
For similar reasons, we recommend using procmail to forward your email off-site. It allows filtering out of known spam, so remote sites are less likely to decide to discard some of your legitimate mail.
