Most graduate students are provided with Sun Ray terminals on their desktops. They have a number of useful but not-so-intuitive features.
Sun rays may be connected to servers running Solaris 10, RedHat Linux, or Microsoft Windows. If you'd like to switch the native operating system of your Sun Ray terminal, send email to staff@cs.umd.edu.
With specially configured smart cards, Sun ray terminals may also switch between a UNIX environment and a Windows environment. For help in doing this, please email staff@cs.umd.edu.
