CS Windows Passwords
Setting your Windows Domain password for the first time
Note: if you are currently able to log into any department
supported Windows system, your domain password
has already been set.
If you have never set your Windows Domain password before you will need to
visit 4120 A.V. Williams with a photo ID and we will help you set
your password.
Changing your Windows Domain password
From a UNIX system
To change your existing Windows Domain password from a supported linux
system, open a command shell window, and run the 'windows'
command.
When a login window appears, enter your current
login information to begin a Windows session. When the login process
finishes click "Start", then "run," type "cmd" into the text box that
appears and press "Ok." In the resulting terminal window, type
"passwd" and press enter, then type your new password, hit enter, and
type your new password again to confirm. Note: although the
passwd prompt tells you passwords are limited to 8 characters in lengh
you may actually use passwords up to 28 characters in length.
From a Windows system
