GRADUATE STUDENT SYMPOSIUM
Co-Chairs: Mary Czerwinski (Microsoft Research, USA) & Jim Hollan (University of California, San Diego, USA)

The objective of the symposium is to provide a supportive setting for feedback on graduate students' current work and guidance on future directions. Student participants will meet and discuss their work with each other and a panel of experienced researchers and practitioners. The goal is to offer students comments and fresh perspectives on their current work. PhD and MFA students from all disciplines concerned with creativity and cognition are encouraged to apply. The application should include a one-page summary (abstract of current work and brief biographical sketch), a four-page description of current work and the expected benefits of participation, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member. We expect grant funding will allow us to provide symposium participants with complimentary conference registration and reimbursement for travel and accommodations (maximum
amount tbd).

Proposals must be submitted to Jim Hollan at hollan@cogsci.ucsd.edu.

NOTE: ** The submission deadline is now extended until DECEMBER 22, 2006 ! **

Proposals should be a maximum of 1 page (summary) + 4 pages (proposal description). The one-page summary will be published in the conference proceedings. This page should be in ACM SIGCHI two-column format.
