Open House
The Open House portion of the event on May 30, from 3:30-5:00pm (immediately following the Symposium) is free.  Registration is not required.

Tutorial Registration ($200) includes coffee, lunch, handout, and reception.
Registration will take place in the lobby of the A.V. Williams building - see map.

T3: An Introduction to Web Design

Workshop Registration ($45) includes coffee, lunch, handout, and reception. Registration requires prior authorization from the workshop organizer (click on workshop links for more details).

SYMPOSIUM (Friday, May 30)
Paid registrations include a materials package and lunch.  Free registration (without materials or lunch) will be granted to full-time undergraduate or graduate students, space permitting.
Registration will take place in the Stamp Student Union - see map.
Industry/Government ($170)
Faculty/Staff ($100) - UMD and other academic institutions
Full-Time Student (Free) - please bring student ID
Press (Free) - if covering event

Materials Packages

If you cannot attend or would like additional materials, the materials packages may be ordered for $70 each.  They will be mailed after the Symposium.  The packages will include:

  • A DVD of our HCIL 2003 Video Reports
  • A set of recent TECHNICAL REPORTS and SLIDES from the talks
  • A new book edited by Benjamin B. Bederson and Ben Shneiderman: "The Craft of Information Visualization: Readings and Reflections"
  • Discounts on other books authored by HCIL faculty
