Gene Ontology with Treemap

The Gene Ontology is an important resource for understanding genomic processes. eir biological functions. This 19-level hierarchy is a complex directed acyclic graph that catalogs approximately 14,000 genes according to their biological functions. Monthly updates based on research results keep the ontology current.

We believe that research can be accelerated by improved visual tools for exploring the gene ontology, especially to understand microarray gene chip experimental results. To this end we have been applying our Treemap software to viewing the gene ontology while showing expression level data with color and size coding. Our Treemap program is available to researchers and students to conduct their own research. For more information:
