Current Project: Query Previews and Dynamic Queries: Developing interfaces that reduce the number of zero - hit and million hit queries and make interacting with large distributed database easier. This is achieved by allowing the user to preview the distribution of the data along certain meaningful parameters prior to sending out a query. This first phase of filtering the data is called "Query Preview". The data points selected in the preview are presented to the user on the Query Refinement Screen, where many other characteristics of this limited data set are rendered visible. Users can use this information to refine their query further.

The current research plans include:
- Solving problems that arise due to Multi Valued Attributes and
- Implementing the query refinement phase in Java

Dissertation : Human Factors in Haptic Displays: Evaluation of Cross Modal alternatives to haptic displays for search, averaging and hill climbing tasks using grids with tiles of varying roughness. Classification of errors using The Haptic Error TAxonomy, which was developed as a part of this dissertation. Develop a model of the existing research in the areas of General Haptics and Texture Perception.

Human Factors and Mechatronics: The integration of the Human Operator into Mechano-Electric Systems should be well planned. The extent of human involvement in the system has other implications that have been identified and modeled. System designers must be aware that the design of the system can influence the level of operator involvement. The level of operator involvement should be selected keeping in mind all the implications of this choice.
