Text only version

Not developped.

The left frame with the tabs would become a top menu bar with:

Intro, Browse and Select Collections, Quick Search, Enhanced Search
Help, Special Presentations, New arrivals

The introduction screen would not have the images sample but a
"samples" button linking to samples from non visual collections
(e.g. transcripts of manuscripts or sound collections.) and textual
descriptions of the samples of visual materials.

The Browse collection screen is the only one so far that cannot be be
used with a text only browser (and will be weird with a text reader
for blind users). To accomodate those cases a simpler version could
be prepared offering only the series of ordered list (i.e. the bottom
part of the screen) and possibly a "filter lists" button linking to
another screen where filters can be set (for time, format, topic etc..)

The result screen visual cues indicating the result type (C I Sxx
etc.) actually shows that text only icons can be used (even if better
icons should be designed for the default non-text-only version.
