HCIL receives Proclamation from the Governor of Maryland

Frank Perrelli of the Maryland Governor's office presents the proclamation to Professors Ben Shneiderman (HCILDirector 1983-2000), Ben Bederson (HCIL Director 2000-2006), Mel Bernstein (UM Vice President forResearch), and Allison Druin (Current HCIL Director). It was presented at the HCIL 25th AnniversarySymposium on May 29, 2008 in College Park. 

The proclamation, also signed by Lt. Governor and Sec'y of State, begins: "The sparks of innovation have been steadily emerging for 25 years from the Human-Computer Interaction Lab at the University of Maryland. Founded in 1983, this group of devoted faculty, outstanding staff, and energetic students has a remarkable record of innovative contributions that have influenced most modern information and communications technologies."
