Generate a master timeline of events and trends during the emergency response. Indicate where it is uncertain and which data underlies that uncertainty. Limit your response to 1000 words and 12 images.
Answer:
A master timeline:
This is a brief timeline, each marked point stands for a specific event, from MC 1, 2 or 3, y-Axis is the importance of events.
There are 3 points on y = 0, which means the start times of each earthquake.
We list all the events in the table below, ordered by their start time.
Start | End | Detail | From | |
4-6 07:04 | 4-6 16:04 | District 6 Downtown, signal from sensor #6 disappear, and appeared 9,hours later at the same position, | MC2

4-8 12:00 | 4-9 09:15 | Reports from Area 8: Scenic Vista stopped, resumed after with plenty of records in a short time (1/2) | MC1
4-8 13:00 | The water pipeline in 3,4,8,9,10,14 sewer and water Old Town, Safe Town, Scenic Vista, Broadview, Chapparal and Easton was broken. This might lead to water pollution. | MC3
4-8 13:15 | 4-8 16:45 | #9 recorded anomaly near the plant and moved away after the reading back to normal. | MC2
4-8 14:00 | Some hospitals were damaged to closed | MC3
4-8 16:15 | 4-8 17:15 | S12,S13,S14,S15 showed sudden increment. S12 turned down after 21:40 while others returned to normal after 17:15. | MC2
4-8 16:40 | 4-8 22:04 | #10 detected abnormal at Jade bridge. The level went up and came down by steps. Sensor 10 leave the place after the reading back to normal. Static sensor 12, which is very closed to the point, showed similar pattern. | MC2
4-9 04:25 | HighWay Jade Bridge open | MC3
4-9 06:14 | 4-9 10:30 | Many sensors left the area through Jade Bridge & WFhwy | MC2
4-9 06:30 | Jade bridge open but limited. | MC3
We believe that the high level recorded by #10 at Jade Bridge was caused by cars nearby when blocked on the bridge. | MC2
4-9 09:24 | Gas pipeline was broken. | MC3
4-9 14:24 | 4-9 20:24 | Mobile sensor 13 arrived at nuclear plant and leave after reading back to normal. 13 never stayed for such a long time near the plant before. | MC2
4-9 14:24 | S9,S12’s reading increased from 15cpm to 25cpm at the same time. S11,S13,S14, M15 showed very small increment (~2cpm). M13 also detected relatively high level when getting close to the plant. | MC2

Identify and explain cases where data from multiple mini-challenges help to resolve uncertainty, and identify cases where data from multiple mini-challenges introduces more uncertainty. Present up to 10 examples. If you find more examples, prioritize those examples that you deem most relevant to emergency response. Limit your response to 1000 words and 12 images.
Answer:
sensor 20’s pattern from MC2
8. Reports from MC1 on damage of roads and bridges came should be followed by temporary closed of these bridges and highways.
highways and bridges’ information’s frequency from MC3
reports about roads in District 12, from MC 1
Are there instances where a pattern emerges in one set of data before it presents itself in another? Could one data stream be used to predict events in the others? Provide examples you identify. Limit your response to 500 words and 8 images.
Answer:
The data for the individual mini-challenges can be analyzed either as a static collection or as a dynamic stream of data, as it would occur in a real emergency. Were you able to bring analysis on multiple data streams together for the grand challenge using the same analytic environment? Describe how having the data together in one environment, or not, affected your analysis of the grand challenge. Limit your response to 500 words and 10 images.
Answer:
As three challenges all represent the value tendency over time, data stream would probably bring no great changes to our systems. MC2 uses statistical information to classify different data patterns and would have to wait for a relatively short period of delay before the data accumulated and thus gets reasonable statistical values. However, the delay only happens for latest data’s patterns distinguishing, and this will not place great influence on our systems.
