Guidelines for posting to the CSIC screens
Only events sponsored by the CS department, departments within the CMPS college or those sponsored by one of the Engineering departments can be posted on the CSIC screens.
Content for display screens generally have to be designed specifically for the screen. For example, links are irrelevant.
1. File type Properly formatted webpages, images and powerpoint slides, such as for the AVW screens can be posted.
2. Screen size The screen size for the plasma screens is 1366 x 768. Your posting needs to be designed to look good on a screen of that resolution, or a little bit smaller. The content on the screens does not scroll, hence any content overflow will be cutoff. For webpages and images, fix the size to 1366 x 768 pixels. For powerpoint slides, set the slide properties to 22.22" x 12.5".
3. Font size Generally, you should use at least 32pt font text for anything you want people to be able to read. It is recommended for webpages to set the body font size to 32pt and use relative sizing (e.g. smaller, larger) instead of specifying all of the font sizes used.
4. Publishing content Send content for the CSIC plasma screens to webmaster@cs.umd.edu, along with how long the content should be posted.
See AVW Signage for posting content to the AVW screens.
