Sivert Soerumgaard and Reidar Conradi, NTNU: The Norwegian SPIQ project (Software Process Improvement for better Quality). SPIQ is collaborative, national SPI project in Norway in 1996-2001, supported by the National Research Council. 15 companies cooperate, and is assisted by four research partners (Univ. of Oslo, Norsk Regnesentral, SINTEF and NTNU). The industrial partners will make strategic and pilot plans, being annually revised for respectively long and short-term SPI. Experience clusters, lead by industry, are formed around testing/inspection, reuse/experience bases and requirements engineering (more may come). A national method book will be made, targeted for smaller companies, and validated during the project. It will initially lean on TQM and QIP/SEF. 3 PhD students will be associated with the project.
