The user has selected a single dataset, either by pointing and clicking on the visual representation of the dataset interval in the "starfield", or by selecting the dataset in the table.
After a dataset is selected, it appears highlighted in the table and the starfield, its spatial extent is shown on the map, and its attribute values are highlighted with thick black boxes.
