Public
transportation in Los Angeles was rather poor at that time. If you walked
around in residential areas, you risked to be checked by a police patrol. So
the acquisition of a car was almost a necessity and enlarged considerably the
possibilities to find a convenient and reasonably priced accommodation.
Stiefel did not know how to drive a car when he visited INA. Sohe had first to learn it which he did in a
short time.
