Some Current and Recent Professional Activities

• I am currently working as a computer scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, on a project whose conceptual goal could be described as attempting to develop an artificial intelligence architecture that "understands" enough about exploration in general and NASA exploration missions in particular that it can easily be trained to take control of any particular distant future, unmanned, exploratory mission.

• Very recently Dr. Petra Perner invited me to join the Program Committee of the Industrial Conference on Data Mining 2008, in Leipzig, Germany, July 16 - 18, 2008. Also in Leipzig at the same location on July 14, 2008, will be a one day International Conference on Mass-Data Analysis of Image and Signals in Medicine, Biotechnology, Chemistry, and the Food Industry.

• August 28-30, 2007, I attended PerMIS'07, The Workshop on Performance Metrics for Intelligent Systems, 2007, in Gaithersburg, Maryland. There I presented Autonomous robots with both body and behavior self-knowledge, as well as led a panel discussion on (Re-)Establishing or increasing collaborative links between artificial intelligence and intelligent systems.

• August 13-16, 2007, I attended the International Conference on Case-Based Reasoning, 2007 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

• July 22-26, 2007, I attended the AAAI 2007 meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia.
