The Knowledge Base of DIRECTOR contains the following items.
- Concept Space that encodes the agent's world knowledge which include:
- TOS tasks
- TOS commands
- TOS readings
- Domain objects, object names, properties and values of properties
- Relationships (usually termed ontology) of these objects
- DIRECTOR commands to create any of the above items
- Causal relationships between TOS commands, TOS tasks and TOS readings
(represented by

axioms (Section 6.1).
- Interpretation Space that contains explicit representations for the following levels of interpretation of an utterance.
- actual words in the utterance
- parse of the utterance
- request (main verb) in the utterance
- object references in the utterance,
maintaining all ambiguity present in the original utterance
(e.g. which light is the ``bedroom light'')
- disambiguated object references
- Observations
- Desires of the agent to perform different UIA actions and to achieve different values for the various properties of each domain object.
- Intentions of the agent
- Expectations that the agent has
- Achievements
- Rules (axioms) that implement the deliberative components and meta-cognitive process of Figure 8.1
