Goals: You will learn some basics of how to be a grad student. In particular there will be talks by faculty on the topics: How to read a paper, How to write a paper, How to listen to a talk, and others. In addition the students will learn how to give a talk in a variety of settings by actually giving small practice talks and having them critiqued. This should benefit the students both in terms of giving research presentations and being a Teaching Assitant.
Meeting Time: The class meets Every Monday 4-6 in CSI 2107
Organizer: Clyde Kruskal.
Grading Policy: This is a 2-credit P/F course. The requirements are attendence and giving a talk (perhaps more than one). You cannot miss any class unless you have a documented good reason.
