Changing Vista Permissions
We had a lot of issues for Vista users to save to their cgi-bin directory. One solution
is to save to the desktop and copy to cgi-bin every time you make a change. That is
annoying, but it works.
Jeremy Yanowitz provided this suggestion, which worked for
some of you:
- Run "msconfig" to open System Configuration
- Under the TOOLS tab, LAUNCH "DISABLE UAC" to eliminate User Account
Controls and allow permission changes
- Reboot the computer for the disable to take effect
- Right click on the Apache folder, then change the security settings
to give myself full permissions
- After you allow yourself to change permissions, then go in and
change them, you can save directly to the Apache folder
