My advisor is Prof. Jimmy Lin. My research interest lies at the intersection of deep learning, information retrieval and NLP. My PhD thesis is about modeling temporal contexts for text retrieval, with applications on social media search, voice search and human-machine conversation generation. I also worked on question answering for a while, and one of my model achieved the contemporary state-of-the-art on a popular benchmark dataset [link].
Recently I interned in Comcast Applied AI Research Labs, working on deep neural networks for improving their voice search system on the XFINITY platform. Last summer I interned in the Local Search team at Google, where I developed a machine learning based model to detect trending places at Google Maps. Previously (in 2013), I have ever interned at Microsoft where I worked on data integration and data warehouse.
