• In all likelihood, you are interested in material related to the Java memory model. Also, for those interested, my Ph.D. dissertation, "The Java Memory Model" is available in pdf.

• You want to find something out about me. Here is some information about me, including a list of some of my papers. In short: I got my undergraduate degree at Haverford College, my Ph.D. at the University of Maryland, College Park, and now I am working as a postdoc at Purdue University.

• This page is nice and all, but it is very 1996. As part of a gradual shift to the 21st century, I am starting a blog. We'll see how long it lasts. Profiling with JVMTI/JVMPI, SIGPROF and AsyncGetCallTrace.

The image to the right is my pet 11-dimensional dragon. The sounds in his name cannot be expressed in the Latin alphabet. One way of looking at the dragon is that he is folding himself in knots in order to escape the fundamental 2-dimensionality of your web browser, in which he finds himself trapped. He even goes so far as to cut holes in himself and pass himself through, but he still can't do it. A 2-dimensional Web is a very sad place for an 11-dimensional dragon.

Either that, or it is just a pretty picture.

I used to say that I only made a web page for the express purpose of succumbing to peer pressure. People seem to have looked at it, so I will amend that: I am succumbing to both peer pressure and vanity.

Some people have said my web page is underachieving. I prefer to think of it as "minimalist".

My younger brother Matt Manson, who is a graduate of NYU's Tisch Film School, has directed an award winning film (A Tour-De-Force! If you see just one 21 minute parody about a high schooler who wants to be a rock star this year, make sure it is this one!).

Anyway, I don't know why I put a link to his page, other than that it will increase his Google ranking and that a lot of people say he looks like me. But younger. I don't see it.
