TeleRobot
I did this
intern project at FXPAL ( Fuji-Xerox Palo Alto Lab ) during summer 2003.
The goal is to use a mobile robot to help
people work at places where they don't, won't or can't be present physically.
At local site, users can use joystick to drive the robot around in a remote
environment, "see" and "hear" the remote scenes, and
send control commands to the robot to physically manipulate objects or electronically
control devices. Furthermore,a software framework is designed to train the
robot to learn
people's operation patterns by collecting multi-modality sensor readings,
and automate these tasks by finding the most possible "action"
in response to current input data. This project is a natural extension of
the following "Shared Interactive Video", in that the cameras
are installed on a mobile platform, resulting in the intended targets have
to be recognized in real-time instead of pre-gestered.
