MAPEN (Maryland Association of Puerto ricans of the EasterN)
section of the USA.
MAPEN is an an informal organization comprise mainly of Puerto Ricans which live
in the MD/VA/DC area. We
we don't have a chairperson, assembly or something similar to that. The goal of this group is
to help each other and to plan activities which everybody can enjoy. The main goal
of MAPEN is to bring together the Puerto ricans which are in the Maryland/VA/DC area.
When many Puerto Ricans come to the area they usually ask: "Where are the Boricuas?"
MAPEN is trying to help answer this question.
A group which started with around 10 members today has over 700 members
(you can find the history of the group in Mapen's History).
To become a member you just need to add your e-mail to the mailing list mapen@cs.umd.edu.
Our main vehicle of communication is our mailing list (mapen@cs.umd.edu). More
information about our mailing list can be found in Mailing lists.
Everyone is cordially invited to be part of MAPEN. Suggestions and ideas are always
welcome. For more information send e-mail to nelson@cs.umd.edu
