The policy for deprecated methods like Thread.stop is that you never
improve their specs, or even reference them, if possible. They
continue to "do whatever they do" until they are finally taken away.
So I don't think there's much point in pursuing how async exceptions
fit in to JMM, except maybe as an academic exercise.
