ACM TOPLAS Information for Authors

ACM Transactions on Programming Languages and Systems

Information for Authors

Manuscripts intended for publication should be submitted by electronic mail (in Postscript format) to toplas@cs.umd.edu. Paper submissions (five copies, to the Editor-in-Chief) are also acceptable, but cannot be processed as efficiently. Papers will be refereed in the manner customary with scientific journals before being accepted for publication.

Manuscripts may be submitted as Short Communications, in which the authors explain an interesting new idea with a maximum of clarity and a minimum of verbiage, not to exceed 5000 words.

For more information regarding electronically submitting accepted articles to TOPLAS follow this link to ACM.

LaTeX style files

Authors submitting papers in LaTeX may want to use these style files to format their documents.

We now have style files that work with LaTeX2e. Authors are encouraged to make the switch to using LaTeX2e.

When put up on the web, TOPLAS articles are processed with the hyperref package to automatically link citations to the bibliography, figure citations to figures, and so on. The hyperref package also allows embedded URL's in LaTeX documents.

Convert LaTeX documents to PDF

TOPLAS articles are available PDF format from

http://www.acm.org/pubs/contents/journals/toplas/

There are a number of issues associated with doing a good translation of LaTeX to PDF, described in another web page.

Reprints

Authors may order reprints of papers as they are published, for a fee. No reprints are provided free of charge.
