I’m Lebanese. The best thing about Lebanon is that whenever you’re there, you feel you’re on vacation. Whether you’re a nature person or not, whether you prefer the night life or not, you can always find something fun to do, no matter what your interests are (hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, club-hopping, sightseeing, going to the movies, playing bowling…). I speak three languages fluently: Arabic, French and English (another good thing about Lebanon, its trilingual school system). My one and only hobby is dancing (whether oriental belly dancing style or American pop/hip-hop style). I’ve been told I’m good at it too.

I hate reading books. I don’t even take a book with me on the plane (it’s a 15 hour plane trip from Maryland to Beirut, and I spend it watching the movies on the plane, or just staring into the air. But I can’t stand to read). The only books I’ve enjoyed reading till now are the Harry Potter books. Want to know about my academic interests? Click here.

As for my education, I went to 3 different schools. I don’t remember anything about my first school cause I was three years old. I spent the next 12 years in my second school, which was a catholic school for girls. I think it gave me the discipline and the moral principles which have been a very important aspect of my personality. The last school is my favorite because I spent my last two school years in it, and those years are just fun.

I did my undergraduate studies at the American University of Beirut (AUB), the most prestigious and expensive university in Lebanon. I could’ve never afforded to attend that university as a computer engineering student, if I hadn’t received a merit scholarship for ranking among the top 10 applicants in 2001-2002. I graduated with high distinction (cumulative average above 90%). Read more.

The summer after graduation (2005) was one of the best summers I’ve ever had. It was time off for me to just have fun, and I did, going everywhere, doing every thing. That summer I met the love of my life, Waleed. We are currently engaged (as of 1/2/2007), and we’re planning to get married once I get my master’s degree (beginning of 2008).
