About Me

I am currently a PhD candidate at the CS deprtment of University of Maryland, College Park under Prof. Matthias Zwicker. My research focus adds a spice of neural networks/deep learning to physically-based rendering problems. I finished my bachelor in Computer Engineering(Software concentration) at Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2019. I won a silver medal in National Chemistry Olympiads in 2013 in Iran.

In my spare time, I try to achieve higher worldwide ranks in FIFA EA Sports online seasons--Best: #1 weekly rankings!

What I Do

Research

Simply put, we love to put neural networks in action when it comes to rendering or sampling, whether it is forward rendering, or backward rendering, we use neural fields to represent the radiance feild and we show using our method of rendering, Neural Radiosity, we can achieve quality/performance gains in comparison to traditional path tracers."

Teaching

Since 2019, I have been TAing multiple intro/advanced computer graphics courses as well as other topics such as computer networks and data science.

Coursework

My PhD coursework spans multiple areas with a focus on Graphics, Differentiable Programming(Rendering), Deep Learning and fair AI. Doing the course project of Advanced Graphics on participating media in 2020 was a turning point in determining my PhD research. Since then, I got passionate with differentiable renderering and also application of neural networks in rendering. Thanks to my Foundation of Deep Learning course, I got a deep knowledge of neural networks that formed my learning insight towards my research goals.

Student Organizations

I enjoy woking in student organizations on campus with the purpose of advocating for (espacially international graduate) student bodies. In Fall 2021, I got elected as a CS representtative of Graduate Student Government (GSG) serving in Governance, Legistlative Affairs, and Budget & Finance committees. In light with my advocacy efforts, I also serve as a member of Internation Student Advisory Board (ISAB) to consult our Internation Office (ISSS) about international student life experience on campus throughout 2021-2023. In 2020, I served as a board member of Iranian Graduate Student Assiosiation (IGSF).
