While only a short time passed for the forces of Amber, seven years passed in Amber with Gerard as regent. These years saw Amber plagued by Shadow Storms and cut off from much of Shadow.

Dara performs a purge of the nobility. Nobles who aided Random's rebellion are put on trial and executed.
