Brahman Samaj of North America (BSNA) is registered in the state of New York as a "Not-for-Profit" organization. Mr. Nirmalendu Choubey is the Founder-President, Mr. Nitin Purohit is the Vice President, Dr. Surendra Pandey is the General Secretary, and Mr. Bhaw Dutt Shukla is the Treasurer of the society. The BSNA is a strictly non-profit, non-political, cultural society operating mainly in the North America. The main aims and objectives of the BSNA are: (i) to promote a sense of kinship amongst all the Brahmans of North America and elsewhere, (ii) to promote cultural, social, and family interaction amongst all the members, (iii) to promote and uplift the traditional Brahman values of life amongst the members, and encourage the younger members to learn and adopt those values within the frame work of modern scientific attitude, (iv) to promote respect for education amongst the children of the members, and (v) to promote goodwill, understanding, and friendship between members of the BSNA and all other communites irrespective of caste, religion, race, and national origin.
    The BSNA publishes "Brahma-Bharati" a quarterly newsletter, and a periodically updated directory of Brahmans (members as well as non-members). Chapters of the BSNA have been/are being formed in several places across the USA and Canada. The BSNA holds an annual convention every year that provides an opportunity to the members to meet and discuss the issues of community interest. The first annual convention of the BSNA was held at Allentown, Pennsylvania, on July 1, and 2, 1995. In addition to serious discussions, the conventions provide lively Indian as well as western style family entertainment programs by professional as well as the community artists.   The BSNA directory contains more than 500 entries. The directory includes Brahman families in the North America- members as well as nonmembers. It is available free to the members of the BSNA. Cost for nonmembers: those listed in the directory- $50; all others $100. Please mail your request to the BSNA address given below.
