Final Exam


In general, you are responsible for most of the covered chapters and readings, 
except where indicated below, plus anything covered in class that is not in the
book.  You can use the amount of attention a subject was given in lecture as
an indication of how important I feel that it is (and how likely it is to show 
up on the exam).  If I told you to look at certain examples during lecture, 
you should understand the examples even if I did not devote a lot of class 
time to the particular example.

Looking over my notes, this is what I would concentrate on:

        This will be a closed book, no-notes, no-calculator test.  I am not 
big on testing memorization and will try to ask questions that let me know 
that you are grasping the big picture.  I may add a question that requires 
you to think about something new, to see if you really understand what we 
have learned so far this semester.
