Develop a P2P overlay network to facilitate queries to a location regardless who is there to provide the service. Location-based query examples are: a) get me the average vehicle speed on 911 Pennsylvania Ave b) send me real-time images of the White House c) show me "local" ads placed near Pennsylvania Ave and I Street corner This project has to evaluate the feasibility of such an overlay network. This should include the development of the requirements for a) developing a location directory where the services are registered and maintained. Can such services be done without stationary (fixed location & address) nodes? If yes, how would a query bootstraps into the location to obtain real IP addresses for the service it needs? If a totally ad hoc network formation cannot be maintained, would the solution be like a hybrid P2P that have some Super peers that are stable? Or do we rely to a central (Napster) like directory as a meeting place? Would this scale? Dream queries: observe a car parked at a location; when it moves follow the car and report its position all the restaurants
