CMSC 411 Computer Architecture, Fall 2013(draft)

All project-related questions will be answered on piazza to ensure all students equal access to the information. In general, answers will not be emailed by the TA or the professor (unless it's a private message--even messages that are anonymous to the rest of the class get answered on piazza).).

• Class accounts: Unix accounts, if needed, will be on the GRACE ( Glue Research and Academic Computing Environment) cluster. Development tools, such as Eclipse, and JAVA 1.7.1 are available on the cluster; we will grade your projects using the submit server. To use the cluster, you will need a TerpConnectn account. If you do not have one, or if you are not sure if you have one, you must request one asap.
• Required Book: Computer Architecture: A Quantatitive Approach, 5ed by John Hennessy and David Patterson. (see 4th ed )  for your convenience.

• 2 75 minute Tests: 10/9, 11/13, (20% each)
