The following is a basic description of one of the five project options available this term.
The general project 1 rules and hardware rules apply to whichever specific project option you choose.

"Teacher's Assistant" - TabletPC based
There are many things that a faculty handles in class that might be made easier if they had a computer easily available. For example, if you get back an exam and add up your points and find that you should have gotten a higher grade, it would be nice for the faculty member to record that modified grade right then and there. Another example is that a faculty member might count class participation as part of the grade - wouldn't it be nice for them to have an easy way to keep a record of each time you participate in a meaningful way? These are just two examples - there are many more. Your job is to design and implement the interface on the TabletPC. You need to consider issues such as what files will need to be on that computer and where those files might come from.

If there are things such as a bar code reader, digital camera or other (available) device that you feel the TabletPC will need to have, you need to specify that as part of your project and then simulate their existance when you are implementing your project.

When implementing your prototype, you will need to populate your system with a wide variety of realistic information and will need to consider how and where a faculty member would setup and use this type of application.
